David Culleton, known to most people as 'Merlin' since his university days, has let his houses
exclusively to University of Sunderland students every year since 1993. He does not let to anyone else. As a landlord, he
has worked in co-operation with the University and is the only landlord to have appeared on the University of Sunderland
'private landlord's list' every year since he started letting (apart from a couple of years when his houses
were already taken), right up until 2017 when the University discontinued its official list of private accommodation.
Being a graduate himself and having two daughters not long graduated from university, he knows what students want from
their term time home. The houses that he rents out are really excellent homes and the service he provides must surely
be the best. He offers excellent value for money. Merlin is an Accredited Member of the National Landlords Association
and is a City of Sunderland Accredited Landlord.
